Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects are to credit for this amazing property on Washington’s Mercer Island, Seattle. It consists of two concrete structures joined by an exterior steel bridge and courtyard. A stunning floor-to-ceiling concrete fireplace stands in living room... At double height the interior space with its huge glass walls creates a vast open common living area with 360 views.

Also made with concrete, steel, and lots of glass this home adds water as a design element... both in view and feature. The ground-level water mirror on the western side is designed with an infinite horizon... making it seem to run into the sea.pn4 architecture pn1 architecture, contemporary architecture, ultra modern house, modern architecture, modern interior design , modern sea house

ON THE EDGE

McQueen + Mobius: M2

Mobius Architects took a hillside and made a mountain of a home. Restrained by building codes that do not allow roofs to have less than a 30degree slope the architects had to think outside of the box without disobeying authority. The house will be located near Cracow Poland and built on an hollowed out section in a limestone bluff.

The challenge of the roof pitch gave way to the overall design. My favorite part of their solution is the extended white terrace and sloping windows. Awesome. Another architectural feat is to credited to the late Alexander Mcqueen. His last season of daring heels push the edge of fashion and gravity.

Villa.
New and Old.
I love love love these two Italian properties thought i would give you a passport for inspiration...enjoy

I love the way the tile detail creates a visual map of the space. With such high ceilings the space would feel vacant and the weight of the low couch would anchors the eye to bottom of the room. I amusing this same effect in a bathroom redo where the room is narrow but the ceiling is super high.

Using tiles as area rugs to define a space is great idea. Without disrupting the flow of space the colorful patterns create a movement to the space.

Then there is the Classic Italian style: a mix of rustic and regal, draping fabrics and Tuscan colors.

I love baskets hanging in a kitchen and the beautiful brick tiled floors are gorgeous

Notice the ceilings with the exposed beams and the heavy plaster on the walls...both of these design inspirations can be highlighted in different genres of interiors.

Enjoy...i did.

MUCHO MUCHNESS

I dedicate this post to all those that believe in celebrating their "MUCHNESS" wink* to ms. ns

As spring approaches a restless rumble is growing with in me (and no its not hunger..im still eating like winter fat will cut my gas heating bill) It is the urge to recreate oneself to re-dress our naked limbs with new leaves and looks...and i must say people.... i am feeling a little much.

Here is my nod to others not afraid to give it all they got...

BPMW: NYC --LONDON

I love this book it recognizes the gentlemen of Bacongo Africa. These men keep it fresh and clean everyday, no matter the temp. The images in this book are captured in such a pure and bold manner that the personalities of the gentlemen emerge from the page.

The arrival of the French and Belgians to the Congo, at the beginning of the 20th Century, brought along the myth of Parisian elegance among the Congolese youth working for the colonialists. In 1922, G.A. Matsoua was the first ever Congolese to return from Paris fully clad as an authentic French gentleman, which caused great uproar and much admiration amongst his fellow countrymen. He was the first Grand Sapeur. The Sapeurs today belong to Le SAPE (Société des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Élégantes) - one of the world s most exclusive clubs. Members have their own code of honour, codes of professional conduct and strict notions of morality. It is a world within a world within a city. Respected and admired in their communities, today s sapeurs see themselves as artists. Each one has his own repertoire of gestures that distinguishes him from the others. They are also after their own great dream: to travel to Paris and to return to Bacongo as lords of elegance. Designer brands of suits and accessories are of the utmost importance to Sapeurs - Pierre Cardin, Roberto Cavalli, Dior,Fendi, Gaultier, Gucci, Issey Miyake, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent,Versace, Yohji Yamamoto are their patron saints.

Spring for me will be: bold silohuettes, Graphic Black and Whites, Coral nails and lips, Purple, and Turquoise, ethnic prints and "new urban" style, boyfriend jeans, denim leggings, sexy lace and shirtdresses

Wikipedia states:

“Fashion victim is a term – claimed to have been coined by Oscar de la Renta – that is used to identify a person who is unable to identify commonly recognized boundaries of style.”
